Improving the efficiency, quality & sustainability of healthcare through innovation procurement.

Healthcare organisations are for the most part unaware of the benefits that a proactive approach to procurement of innovative new solutions can bring. This means that opportunities for innovation are missed and problems remain unsolved in a sector that has around 15,000 hospitals in Europe, accounts for some 5% of CO2 emissions and represents a huge slice of public procurement budgets.

EcoQUIP will build on the platform of the LCB‐HEALTHCARE Public Procurement Network and the underpinning UK programme on innovation procurement to embrace the grand societal challenge of environmental sustainability, including climate change and energy/resource scarcity. It will involve two pioneering approaches to the design and implementation of collaborative innovation procurement in the public sector.  Find out more about EcoQUIP here.
